What’s up! I’m Haitia (Hey-Sha) Lauryn, the creative mind behind Lit N Lovely. This space was crafted on the belief that Black stories deserve to be celebrated, spotlighted, and studied. We’re rewriting the narrative one post at a time by showcasing Black culture’s beautiful, brilliant, and unapologetically bold essence within literature, film, and pop culture. And it’s all from a Gen Z lens!

Who Am I?

I am a writer, micro content creator, and passionate advocate for self-expression and self-growth. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I found my love for storytelling at a very young age. Writing was my safe space and my megaphone.

That love carried me to The Ohio State University, where I earned my B.A., and then to graduate school, where I continued to sharpen my voice as a writer. Whether I am crafting a scene for a screenplay, sharing a blog post, or outlining the next chapter of a book, my mission is always the same: to create a space for Black voices, Black stories, and the power of becoming your truest self!

From historic icons to rising stars, students, creators, and everyday people doing big things. One spotlight at a time, we give our flowers and honor those rewriting the narrative in their own way!

One of the most exciting aspects of Lit N Lovely is my passion for books and television! Here, you’ll find in-depth reviews and recommendations for various genres. (Not gonna lie, I mainly read romance, but I do dabble in other genres occasionally.) My reviews aim to provide honest and insightful perspectives. Keep in mind, these are simply my opinions.
